Jane was born July 25, 1939, at the family home in Henry, Neb., to Burt and Gail Anderson. She was the oldest of five siblings. She spent her childhood at her parents’ grocery store in Henry. She graduated from Torrington High School as a member of the Class of 1957. She attended college in Greeley, Colo., for a time.
On June 22, 1958, she married Ron Price of Lingle. They would go on to live an adventurous life together and raise one son and two daughters. Soon after they married Ron joined the Air Force and was stationed in Albuquerque, N.M., where they had their first child, Roger.
Upon Ron’s discharge from the USAF, they returned to Henry for a time before moving to Jackson Hole, where he was stationed as a Wyoming Highway Patrolman. Jane worked for the U.S. Forest Service and always remembered her time in Jackson very fondly. She loved the place and loved her work there.
In 1969 Ron and Jane returned to the family farm in Lingle and Ron was elected Goshen County Sheriff. Jane worked in the jail cooking for the inmates. Later she would own and operate the Wagon Wheel Western Store in Lingle. She very much enjoyed outfitting her friends, family and the local community with the best in cowboy fashions. Some locals are still wearing the boots she sold them.
In their retirement, Ron and Jane traveled the southwestern United States in winter months and owned/operated the BQ Corral Restaurant in Lusk in the summers. They lived in Lusk until his passing and were active members of the local Elks Lodge. They enjoyed their time as part of the Niobrara County community.
Jane was a devoted wife and good friend. Her grandchildren will remember her cooking, bubble baths and her gardens. She loved her three sisters and brother very much and was proud to be their big sister. She relished time spent with friends and was always happy to see them.
Jane is survived by her three children; Roger (Katrina) Price of Wheatland, Stacy (Harvey) Reel of Fisk, Mo., and Bonnie (Mark) Morin of Laconia, N.H.; her eight grandchildren scattered throughout the country; her nine great-grandchildren whom she was blessed to know; her three sisters, Donna Phipps of Lingle, Shirley (Skip) Lessert of Morrill, Neb., and Karen (Mike) Stricker of Torrington; her brother Craig Anderson of Fort Laramie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in May 2016; and her parents who passed some years ago.
