The finalists for these awards represent the best of the best among thousands of other recipients, and these members have mastered skills in production, finance, management, and/or research.

Rhett Greenwald, of the Torrington/Lingle FFA Chapter, received the State Star in Agricultural Placement Award. Rhett has been an employee of Joe Greenwald, Inc. for ten years, which is a family-run farm that’s been in the family for five generations.

As an employee, Rhett is responsible for feeding, diagnosing, doctoring, and processing cattle. He is also responsible for weed control, raising and harvesting crops, and field
preparation.

Alongside his farming and ranching responsibilities, Rhett helps with mechanical duties like servicing vehicles and tractors.

While working for Joe Greenwald, Inc., Rhett has become proficient in equipment operation, livestock handling, and interpersonal communications. Rhett hopes to become the fifth generation of his family to farm.
